Stefanie Husemann, MA in progress

Intern

Stefanie is a current intern, training in EMDR and working towards certification while completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Saybrook University. With many years of experience as a certified coach, she has supported individuals living with chronic pain and illness through Pain Reprocessing Therapy, nervous system regulation, and somatic practices. Inspired by the transformations she witnessed, Stefanie chose to pursue counseling to serve clients in a deeper and more comprehensive way.

She believes in our innate ability to grow, heal, and change, and aims to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can cultivate safety, resilience, and new possibilities. Grounded in a trauma-informed lens and guided by Relational-Cultural Theory, Stefanie’s counseling style reflects her belief that humans grow through relationships, not in isolation. She emphasizes the power of mutual, authentic, and empathic connection as a foundation for healing and thriving.

Her lived experience with a chronic disease informs her work and strengthens her dedication to supporting others navigating both physical and emotional health challenges. She is a cisgender, heterosexual white woman and a vegan with a deep love for animals, often dreaming of rescuing every one she meets.

Stefanie recently moved to the Pacific Northwest for her love of the outdoors, mountains, and water. Outside of school and internship, she enjoys reading, learning, nurturing her houseplants, paddleboarding, and hiking (especially with her cat).
