Intern Therapist

Parmida is pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University and is completing training in EMDR. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington. She has experience working with neurodivergent and first-generation college students, as well as neurodivergent children and teens.

Parmida approaches therapy with curiosity, empathy, and compassion. She believes that many of the behaviors and beliefs we develop make sense in the context of our experiences and the ways we have learned to navigate the world. She provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, emotions, and patterns with greater understanding and compassion.

Parmida incorporates parts work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Relational-Cultural Therapy in combination with EMDR. She takes a collaborative, person-centered approach and works with clients to make sense of their experiences, process what may be keeping them stuck, and develop resources for moving forward.

Parmida is especially passionate about working with first- and second-generation immigrants, college students, neurodivergent individuals, and people navigating multicultural identities and relationships. She also enjoys supporting clients through life transitions and working with concerns related to self-esteem, shame, social anxiety, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Outside of the therapy office, Parmida enjoys reading literary fiction, journaling, going on nature walks, and having cozy days in.

Parmida was born in Iran and has lived in Washington since early childhood. She identifies as Middle Eastern, heterosexual, Gen Z, and a cisgender woman.
