KT King

Intern Therapist

KT is currently an intern with Seattle EMDR and is training in EMDR, working towards certification. She earned a bachelor’s in Outdoor Recreation from Western Washington University in 2019, and is currently finishing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University. Her approach to therapy is person-oriented and uses a relational and existential approach to counseling. She believes that people are not born with purpose or meaning and it is part of life to determine those things for themselves. She believes that individuals’ growth and development is rooted in building affirming and empowering relationships with others, and that when people experience disconnection from others and themselves they experience hurt and increased vulnerability to life’s stressors.

KT offers an authentic, honest, and nonjudgemental space for you to explore areas of your life that feel meaningless, where you are experiencing disconnection, and where you would like to make changes.

She is passionate about working with first responders, service industry workers, BIPOC, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and adoptees. She also has experience supporting individuals with ADHD, PTSD, and family trauma.

In her free time she enjoys trail running, skiing, and trying new snacks.

KT is Asian-American, AFAB, queer, and non-religious.

She sees clients online and in person in our Seattle office at sliding scale rates from $40 - $80 per session.
