Katie Wehrman, M.Ed in progress

Intern Therapist

Katie is an intern therapist and is currently training in EMDR. Katie is in their third and final year of graduate school at Seattle University, working towards their Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Katie prioritizes a person-centered approach in her work. Collaboration between client and therapist to create goals is deeply important to her. She understands the importance of being seen in one’s humanness in order to facilitate growth and change. Katie believes that showing up authentically and creating safety in the therapeutic space is the first step towards healing, and she works hard to demonstrate genuineness to support clients in feeling safe to be themselves, too.

Katie has spent the past two years working in Residential and Partial Hospitalization levels of care. Katie is knowledgeable in DBT, CBT, and ACT and aims to incorporate a trauma-informed approach to each of these modalities.

Katie enjoys working with queer and trans individuals, those working to build healthier relationships, individuals who are working to cultivate healthier relationships to their body image and eating habits, people impacted by attachment wounds, and those who have experienced intimate partner violence.

Katie identifies as a white, able-bodied, gender non-conforming lesbian. Outside of sessions, they enjoy attending Seattle Storm games, (re)watching “Gilmore Girls,” spending time with loved ones, reading, analyzing Taylor Swift lyrics, swimming, and wrangling their two orange cats.

Katie sees clients online and in our Seattle office.
