Dani Konicek, MS LSWAIC

Therapist

Dani is fully trained in EMDR and is working toward certification. She has a Master’s in Social Work specializing in gender and medical systems from University of Washington-Tacoma.

Dani has lived experience from a young age in accessing mental health counseling for depression, anxiety, ADHD and later gender dysphoria. Dani turned her experiences into a career in crisis counseling, rural social work, medical support and counseling.

In counseling Dani has specialized in assisting clients with anxiety and symptoms resulting from ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, gender transitions and trauma, both recent and through childhood developmental years. She has also assisted older teens through the anxiety and challenges of moving towards adulthood and exploring their identity. Dani has also offered support for challenges with OCD, dissociation and memory challenges.

Session to session, Dani provides a gentle, warm and collaborative experience in sessions with an emphasis on teaching, explaining and coaching clients through the techniques she uses. She is happy to take extra time to help clients understand their brains, their challenges and how they can take direct action changing things for the better.

In addition to EMDR, Dani utilizes techniques from DBT, ICBT, Ego State Therapy and parts work, and adopts a holistic approach and lets client’s define their goals, pacing and language.

Dani works primarily with older teens (16+) and adults, and is happy to work with neurodivergent (ADHD, ASD) and gender diverse folks of all background and occupations. Dani is welcoming to all folks, including those that are polyamorous, transgender, kinky, or live under the queer umbrella.

Outside the therapy office, Dani runs board games, paints miniatures, goes on hikes and spends time with loved ones.

Dani is a white, millennial, agnostic, transgender US-born bisexual woman.

Dani is in network with First Choice, Premera, Lifewise, Anthem, and other Blue Cross plans (out of network with Regence). Dani sees clients either virtually or in-person from the Federal Way office.
